Puppy Exchange

Yesterday afternoon Katlynn and I traded puppies for the week. 

We tried to trade once before, a couple months ago, and when we did, I tried to burn my foot off on the first day I had Desoto. So, since that trade only lasted about two days, we decided to try again. 

Ignore Chappelle's icky face in this picture, I'm not sure what he was doing. I think it's the end of a yawn, where he scrunches up his nose. ;)

Desoto has definitely started to mature, and I've noticed a difference between when I last had him and now. He really does have good obedience. But he is still a bit puppyish, but aren't they all at times? ;)

He is more cooperative with pictures than Spike, which I guess balances out the challenge of getting a good picture of a black dog. 

We went for a short walk this morning, and last night Desoto got to meet our horses. He was a little bit nervous at first, but after about five minutes he was pretty comfortable with them.

He really enjoys our water trough. 

Here he was trying to figure out why water was spilling out over the side. ;)

Chappelle's like "Hey man, that's our drinking water you're playing in!"

It's good we decided to trade now, because pretty soon I know I'll be clinging to Spike before recall. :(

This last week we didn't do too much. Spike went with our leaders for a day, since they had a function to go to, and they couldn't show up without a dog. ;) He went with me to a doctors appointment, and several shopping trips. Now is the exact point where taking Spike on errands is a pleasure, because he doesn't need a head collar, and has pretty much no issues. This past weekend I had horse stuff. Surprise, Surprise. ;)

Desoto and I have a pretty uneventful week scheduled. Most of my friends are out of town. I'm watching out leader's house while they are out of town, and other than that I'm planning on getting some scrapbooking and summer assignments done. I might ride sometime in there, but it's just so dang hot, that has to be done in the morning or at night. 

There is no puppy news unfortunately. I believe Celeste is out on the road until sometime this week, and hopefully when she gets back she'll let us know her thoughts. We're basically waiting to hear whether she thinks we should get one or two puppies before we put in an app. ;)
